My students need headphones to help them limit distractions to focus on learning. I am also asking for letter beads, pompoms, and other items for counting collections.
My students come from all over the globe. The diversity is awesome and they experience the challenges that come from families relocating such as language and poverty. These students are eager to learn and make the most of each day.
They like to have fun and are working hard to become great readers.
First graders' work focuses on the word meanings, comprehension of story elements, and listening to themselves to make their reading sound just right. Help us rediscover the world through reading.
My Project
Students are talkative and excited. During interventions students who aren't working with the teacher have access to adaptive math and reading programs on the computer. The last step for students to maximize the resources we already have are headphones.
Headphones will help students focus and think before clicking.
The goal for these adaptive programs is to target students' learning at just the right difficulty. It's amazing to see how much students learn from focusing their effort.
We do Counting Collections each Friday where students count everyday objects. When students are given freedom to just count they build stamina and number sense. They start grouping into 10s and 1s, eventually 100s, and counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Strong number sense helps students be successful in math throughout their lives.
