My students are a group of diverse learners with multiple abilities.
I believe all children can learn and it is my passion to provide a safe and highly structured environment for them to do so.
Mainstreaming 4, 5, and 6 year olds with learning disorders, behavior needs, Autism, and Down Syndrome into a regular classroom setting requires a vast amount of resources for all students to be successful!
My Project
I have found through experience and research that special seating, such as wobble chairs can increase a child's attention. The rocking motion from the chairs and weight from weighted blankets or weighted animals are calming and help relieve anxiety or stress .
"Focused on Fidgets" will provide the opportunity for my students to keep their hands active and their minds focused on learning.
Sixty-eight percent of my students are kinesthetic learners. The stretchy string fidgets, monkey string balls, stress balls, etc will help me provide these students with an abundance of opportunities to be successful learners and minimize behavior ploblems.
"Focused on Fidgets" will provide a purposeful way of keeping students with attention deficits focused. Students with anxiety, relaxed, and students with stress, calm. My students as well as our classroom environment will greatly benefit!
