Focused, Growing Minds, Healthy Bodies and Nutritious Snacks
My students need nutritious snacks, tissues, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes to stay healthy. They also need nutrition, mindfulness and growth mindset books to support our science curriculum and mindfulness and growth mindset initiatives.
My diverse group of 5th grade students attend an urban elementary school in upstate New York. All of my students qualify for free and reduced breakfast and lunch, and several participate in the weekend food backpack program.
Despite the many struggles that my students face, they are ready to tackle each new day at school working hard to prepare for their futures.
My students are inquisitive about the world around them, very creative, and motivated to to well in school.
My Project
My students would benefit from books on mindfulness and growth mindset to help them maintain calm, focused minds and to encourage them to persevere as they strive for academic excellence. We also need resources for our food nutrition unit.
The cold and snow won't keep my students at home this winter if they stay healthy, happy, and productive.
To support this my students need disinfecting wipes to keep surfaces free of cold and flu viruses, tissues for our runny noses, hand sanitizer, and healthy snacks to keep them fueled. Stress balls will give them a peaceful way to relieve tensions.
