Help me give my students a microphone and a digital camera for their media class.
Students in my media class are full of creativity and enthusiasm! They come to class ready to work, but are sometimes hindered by the equipment they have available to them. They come to class with a wide variety of interests as well as skills levels.
Media students are risk-takers.
They create videos and read the news in front of over 700 peers, teachers, and community members. I applaud their bravery. Public speaking can be scary at any age, but especially when you are in middle school.
Students in media are responsible for creating a daily morning news show that delivers information to the school's students, staff, and community. Students will use the camera to take photographs of staff and students. The photographs will be used to create videos recognizing student and staff achievements as well as to highlight school events like rallies and spirit weeks. The microphone is needed to add voice overs to videos.
Media students create campus news stories, documentaries, public service announcements, and book trailers.
The news show also airs student created videos about school expectations, student achievement, school sports, the prevention of bullying, cyber safety, and tolerance. The news shows aim to connect students to their school and increase communication. These donations would help to fill the holes in the media program and help it to run smoothly.
