Help me give my students access to organizational tools to help my ASD students focus, and feel secure. Some students need the weighted blanket, seat cushion, and the other fidget tools to help them succeed.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of lack of supplies and resources.
I teach at a school near downtown Orlando. There are over 900 students who walk to school on a daily basis. My school provides three meals a day for the students. I am in a very low income area. They love to learn and read all kinds of stories.
I have a few students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Visual Cards for Calming, the Weighted Tactile Beanbags, Spiky Tactile Cushion, would benefit greatly by being able to redirect their attention at their desks. It can be very distracting for the other students when the students get up and begin roaming. The colors from the Advantus Cropper Hopper Home Center Rolling Cart, Post-it Super Sticky Notes, and the 100 Words Skills Books help the student focus on their specific color, and the other tools are going to benefit and help maximize the students in need while insuring the other students are learning, and not distracted. The Scholastic News will help the students find something they are interested in, and then they can follow up on the idea. When students are engaged and they are interested in what they are learning is interesting everything else will fall in place.
