This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every morning we start off with Corral, where the students move to another teacher to be accelerated or remediated. The students love moving and doing inventive ideas to remediate or accelerate.
I would love my students to have the 21st century skills needed to compete in the real world.
My students range in ability and interest.
However, 89% of them are kinesthetic learners. Most are on free/reduced lunch so it is a low economic area. My school is K-5 with 5 teachers per grade. We have Early Intervention Programs as well as after school programs.
My Project
My students will be researching the principals of flight for our science curriculum on pushes and pulls. I believe capturing their kinesthetic learning will help them learn about the science principals that we have to cover as well as the measurement skills they will learn. We will also learn about the history of flight. Launching rockets and building rockets in the classroom brings real life to their learning.
Donations to this project will provide the student a better understanding of math, science, reading skills needed to compete in a 21st century world.
If you choose to donate to this project you will be helping our school implement 21st century skills.
