My elementary school is full of curious and inquisitive students wanting to learn. We nurture a student culture of world-changers in our school and community. The best part is that students can step outside and experience first-hand all components of life. Relevant learning is key to student success.
What better way to foster our learning environment by providing outdoor learning investigations that apply to real-life.
I want to provide the materials our students need to continue to grow and learn through interactive hands-on experiences outdoors.
My Project
A great way to bring the classroom outside is to provide an inviting learning space for students. Students can learn about the life cycles of butterflies while viewing an interactive habitat.
Our school garden is a great place for students to learn how to build a butterfly habitat while understanding the importance of conservation and plant and animal relationships.
Our students already enjoy visiting our school garden to continue their learning outside. I would love to have the opportunity to create a space for ALL students at my elementary to enjoy outside and continue their learning in ALL content areas. The butterfly bushes, nectar, and milkweed seeds will provide an excellent learning environment as it fosters a butterfly habitat for all students to enjoy and creates a calm place for other learning experiences to occur.
