Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I strive to help them become the best version of themselves.
I want them to persevere, to change their mindset, to believe in themselves, and to know that their education is so important.
From the moment they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. It is my goal to inspire the earliest learners to continue on the path of academic excellence in a creative and positive way.
My Project
Kindergarten children are naturally curious about the world around them. My kindergartners are that and so much more they are observers and their eyes fill with wonder as we begin each science project. I have instilled a passion for science in each of them and they love learning about the environment. The butterfly life cycle is always a fascinating topic for my little ones. With this project, I will be able to bring the life cycle process into our classroom where they will get to observe and care for the butterflies during each stage.
As spring approaches, having the opportunity to watch the life cycle of butterflies would be magical for my little learners!
Experiencing the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly would thrill my young scientists, and give them a living example of a life cycle process. The additional materials, the insect specimen center, science viewer, and insect blocks, will support hands-on science instruction and help us gain valuable research
