This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school. All (100%) of our students get a free lunch. We have students attending that come from neighborhoods all over Tallahassee.
My kids are turning the world upside down with their creativity!
We are a charter school which means that we offer things that are not available to students at our local public schools. My students are six years old and already working with computers and coding. They are participating in reading 1,500 books a month.
These bubbly little people deserve the best and I want to help give it to them.
My Project
My school is starting a small business model for the students. They will start this business from the ground up. They will be selling things like cotton candy, and tee shirts. Today we hope to purchase an industrial cotton candy machine. They already have their Cricut and shirt press. We are working on getting the rest together today.
Help up fluff up on our financial literacy skills!
The kids will make and sell their goods. They will keep records and use the money earned to re-order materials that they need. Any profits earned will be used to purchase things for the school classrooms.
We want to give these kids a glimpse at what their futures could hold if they apply themselves in the present.
