My Students

My students are an amazing, diverse group of kids! Students come from a variety of different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. These students are full of energy and come to school excited to learn and participate in engaging activities.

Growth in literacy skills are essential for success!

These students are our future and I want to do all I can to help them be successful in life. I would be thrilled, and so would they, to have any available help in funding this project.

My Project

The materials I am asking for will help my Fourth Grade students with their independent fluency practice. This fluency practice will reinforce the skills they are tested on when taking the Acadience Test. The Acadience Test is a one minute timing that measures the number of words read, accuracy, and retell comprehension.

These supplies will be used along with the Read Naturally program to help students work continuously through the year to improve fluency skills.

Students will use MP3 players regularly to access leveled text that will boost their reading skills and help students maintain growth towards grade level and above.
