My classroom consists of nineteen, little learners who come from diverse backgrounds. I teach in a low economic district where the kids absolutely love to come to school and learn.
I am in a co-teaching classroom with special education students who work extremely hard every single day.
Each year, the students come into my classroom with the biggest smiles, which makes me want to make each day extra special and provide them with learning tools to make learning easy and fun. Students love working together and I love to promote that in my classroom.
My Project
The evidence based literacy approach is a program full of buddy reading fun. Students are provided materials to use daily throughout the school year in order to increase reading fluency while having fun with their friends. Students work together to record each other's progress using tiered passages on their level. Peer-to-peer fluency practice with repeated timed reading practice allows students to work with their peers. The students will have access to high frequency word lists and tiered passages and the teacher is able to monitor progress as they work.
My co teaching inclusion classroom is full of different levels of learners and this will allow them to make gains on their own levels in order to become successful readers.
