Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This is my first year with these students so it’s too early for me to describe them. However I know they will be great. We are in the inner city area of Birmingham and my kids come from different walks of life. Even though my students may not have data (standardized test) that says they are brilliant, they are some of the hardest working children that I know. My students are very eager to learn. My students love life and they also enjoy coming to school.

My Project

The flu bug has hit our school teachers and students are both out. I have purchased many wipes and spray but we are running low on things that are needed. Please help me to keep my kids germ free so that they do not miss any days of school. If they are not at school, I can’t not teach them. Also the more they are away from school the more they are prone to get in trouble outside of school. This may not seem like a “mathematical thing” but this is a well needed thing in order for me to teach math.
