My students are eager to learn and eager to please! They are kind and considerate of their fellow classmates, and strive to do their best work. I have one pre-k class as well as five kindergarten classes. My students love books, visiting the school library, and hearing new stories, and are very inquisitive about the world around them. They are quick to make connections from books we read in library to events in their own lives, and often offer great insight.
My Project
My kindergarten, first and second grade students greatly enjoy their library classes, and often I will have several different stations for them to try various activities after the stories.
Having a puzzle station would give my students the opportunity to problem solve and work on their hand-eye coordination.
It would also promote teamwork, as they would need to work together to finish a puzzle in the allocated time. Several of the puzzles requested feature numbers and the alphabet, and they would find the dinosaur, animal, and ocean life of great interest as well as educational. Being successful at completing a puzzle helps students with self-esteem too.
