My Students

21st Century Learners are everywhere. The challenge is to meet the needs of these students through the use of technology. I want to be able to allow my students to explore technology and create diverse learning experiences.

I teach third grade in a high poverty area.

Students in poverty tend to be visual learners and using Flip video cameras will help them recall what they are learning in a variety of ways. The students love to explore and learn with technology. By funding this project the students will have the opportunity to be engaged as a 21st Century Learner.

My Project

The demands to be technologically literate are increasing in our world. To help our students to be successful in life they need to be able to use technology appropriately. Having Flip cameras will let my students create multi-media projects that allow them to express their learning in unique ways. They will also be able to see and hear themselves as readers, which will help them grow in their fluency. The Flip cameras will also enable them to record a sequence of events and then write a story after watching the video. The cameras will also help them make better observations in science or social studies, as well as better remember the steps to solve a problem in math. The ways we could use these during our day are countless!

Using the Flip cameras will help make learning fun and exciting for my students which, in turn, will allow them to build better lives for themselves by preparing them for our technologically advanced world.
