My Students
I work at an elementary school in HISD where, we, as a kindergarten team educate nearly 100 students yearly through the collaborative cohort of two bilingual teachers and two general education teachers. Our campus is a low income, an at-risk school that serves over 800 students that were devastated by the events of Hurricane Harvey. Almost 100% of the students at my school are economically disadvantaged and most students read below grade level. Our kindergarten classrooms consist of a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. We have students who have never been in a classroom before and others who come from different countries.
As a strong kinder team, we strive to teach energetic and enthusiastic young children who want to expand their love of learning, build knowledge, develop their ability to get along with others and explore ways of reaching out to the world.
Our students love to move around the classroom and explore new ways of learning. Just like many other students, our kindergartners enjoy working and learning from hands-on learning activities.
My Project
Students, especially young students, love to explore the world through many facets. This strengthens their knowledge by use of tactile, visual and auditory learning experiences. The Flip Solve Math Boards Complete Set and Flip Read Sight Word Sentences will allow students to use fine motor, tactile skills to strengthen their knowledge base.
The ability for knowledge is vast and is easily manipulated with the right tools.
The Flip Solve Math Boards Complete Set and Flip Read Sight Word Sentences will allow students hands-on activities for easy transfer of I Do, We Do, You Do skills.
At a young age, students are like sponges. By giving them easily manipulated materials that enables them to flip through with ease, will generate a positive environment and raise students' self confidence.
