My Students

I teach a wonderful group of energetic 3rd graders! These kiddos are very special to me and I take their learning environment very seriously. Our school is located in a low-income area, yet they come to school each and every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn! About 1/4 of my classroom receives Special Education services on a daily basis. I am always trying to make their daily experience at school meaningful and exciting! I strive to make my classroom a "safe place" for learning!

My Project

The goal of flexible seating in my classroom is to have the students feel comfortable in their learning environment. When they feel comfortable, they are ready to learn! Flexible seating will provide a calm, inviting atmosphere for my students. Also, the seating will give the students a choice in which seating arrangement is best suited for them. My special needs students will greatly benefit from some of these seating choices. The idea behind the seating is to encourage student participation by helping students focus their energy!

Along with the new flexible seating arrangement will come guidelines for properly utilizing the seats and seating areas.

The guidelines will encourage students to be responsible and respectful in the new flexible seating. I want the new classroom setting to be both academically beneficial and fun for my students!
