My Students

My students are from Utah where we have the lowest per-pupil spending in the nation. My special education students do hard things every day with limited resources. They face daily personal health concerns, challenges at home, and school. They learn to communicate through assistive technology, sign language, or peer to peer interaction. My students struggle with sensory and social issues that they are working at overcoming on a daily basis through inclusion and life skill classes.

Special Education gives the ability to support my students' individual diverse learning needs.

The fear for families with high-risk children during the COVID-19 crisis is real. My students work tirelessly to succeed and want to learn! This project supports my students' STEM education by providing individual safe supplies for them to use.

My Project

I am always looking for ways to get my special education students more engaged and involved in their learning. The digital Flipchart will help with interactive lessons in math, English, and so many other subjects. I use EngageNY and the lessons are Flipchart compatible, I would love to use the animation feature for my students.

Technology is changing the face of education and having the latest tech helps students and teachers adapt to that change.

COVID is challenging with so many students going on and off of quarantine the Flipchart will assist with hybrid teaching as well. I will be able to present to the students in class, record the lesson, and upload with animation for students that need to access online class.
