Help me give my students eight adjustable stools to use with their standing desks and a dry-erase easel for me to use as a teaching tool during small group instruction.
About one-third of my class comes from a two-parent home, while the others live with grandparents, a single-parent, and three who even are currently placed in foster care. While about half of my students come from homes that provide academic support, many lack academic and technology-based support and classrooms lack 1/1 technology.
Mine is one of two 4th grade classrooms that serve students with individualized education plans.
With six 4th grade classrooms, class sizes for our grade level is 24-25 students per class and continue to grow. As a highly populated Title I school among a county of fifty-three elementary schools, our school community is full of wonderful spirit.
My Project
My husband built six standing desks for my classroom, and I have since ordered two additional (different style) standing desks.
These standing desks are a wonderful addition to the flex seating that I have in my 4th grade EC classroom, but they do need to have the option to sit at a stool when needed.
These stools would be perfect since they are adjustable and have an optional locking mechanism.
I could also use a dry erase easel to use during small group instruction for my math and science centers. My current easel is too small for the whole group to see.
