This year, I have the pleasure of working with an incredible group of third graders. Since the very first day of school, I have been impressed by their good manners, kindness, and overall love of learning. I have a diverse group of learners who range from having a love of technology to a love of theater and drawing. My students are the most helpful group of kids. If I am doing anything, I always have a group of hands in the air wondering how they can help me with a given task.
My students have the kind of drive that inspire me to be a better teacher.
They are constantly pushing me and asking questions that make me deliberate how to deliver my answer. These eight-year-olds encourage me to go above and beyond for them!
My Project
I have noticed that my students are not very fond of sitting on their bottoms in a desk all day! By the end of the day, I can tell that they just want to be out of their seats. On a daily basis, my students are given the choice to work around my room, and have options like sitting in my library, under desks, and at their seats.
I know that my kids are going to be significantly more engaged and comfortable in their learning if given the choice of where to sit.
The products that I have chosen are going to give my students many options to make more effective learning choices.
The different options for floor seating are going to provide a comfortable alternative to sitting on the rug. I also have students who have so much built up energy! The balls would be a perfect outlet for getting their wiggles out!
I recognize how much of an impact this seating will have on their learning. Since we are constantly working around my room, the variety that this seating would provide would be an instant game-changer for student engagement and productivity!
