Flexing Our Scientific Brains With Flexible Seating
My students need stability ball chairs, wobble cushions, chair bands, and rolling chairs to help them have more seating options that allow them to learn comfortably.
My students this year are a diverse group of learners. My school is located in a suburb in St. Charles, Missouri just outside of St. Louis. My school is a Leader in Me school that fosters diversity, leadership, and the idea that all students have genius. My classroom learners are special in that they all have unique ideas and gifts that make our classroom a true family that learns and works together to make decisions, drive learning, and celebrate success!
My Project
My classroom has evolved over the last eleven years to include STEM based initiatives for my scientific learners. The only thing missing is 21st Century seating to allow my students to be comfortable and learn in their best environment.
This project would provide rolling chairs, stability balls, wobble cushions, and bouncy chair bands that would allow my students to sit comfortably and have choice in their seating.
By providing choices, my students will take ownership of their learning and will be able to feel more comfortable throughout their day. I still use classroom tables and desks (as we complete many science experiments in my classroom), so providing new seating options will enrich my classroom environment!
