Flexing Our Focus In The Reading Fundamentals

My Students

Each day is a new adventure in our classrooms! My students want to excel in school. I have a large range of learning abilities and learning styles in my classroom. My students come from diverse home lives and most are from low-income families.

We are one of the largest elementary schools in our district.

My students come from a variety of neighborhoods. All receive free breakfast, and all receive free lunch. I enjoy teaching a wide range of concepts and skills to students. They come to school excited to learn every day.

My Project

I would like to get these Flex Seats for our resource room library. This will allow students to have a break from sitting in regular chairs all day. I have noticed students get tired from sitting in a seat all day and need flexibility, especially during reading time.

Students will be more engaged and can focus on what he or she is reading in our special education room library.

This project will allow my students to have different types of seating throughout the day. I also have pillows and small chairs in my room for students to use. These Flex seats are lightweight, are comfortable, and are soft, when we are not at centers students would be allowed to grab choose which flex seat, and then the student can immerse themselves into a good book. I feel this project will help foster a love of reading within my special education students as well.
