Our school houses students in preschool through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 510 students. The mission of our school is to establish a safe, appropriate, and nurturing learning environment which provides all students a secure foundation of knowledge and develops a love of learning. My students experience success and achieve their highest potential with the support of teachers, parents, and the community.
My fourth graders will benefit greatly from any project you choose to support.
The twenty-four of them work hard every day to become better students and better people. Their eyes light up when I get to tell them that one of my projects got funded and that there are people out there who care about their education!
My Project
I want my students to define their "perfect learning spot"! My goal is to provide my students will a variety of seating options in which they can maximize their learning experience.
Flexible Seating is the stepping stone for students to make appropriate choices that lead to success and achievement in the classroom.
Options for flexible seating, especially an option where students are able to move while they learn will help them be successful.
Students spend so much time in the classroom. A classroom should not just be standard tables with hard chairs. I want to create an environment that allows them to be comfortable with a variety of "learning spots". Whether that learning spot is laying on the floor with a comfy pillow or sitting in a wobble chair to control their wiggles, I encourage student choice. I want to create areas in the classroom where they can work collaboratively or independently. With a variety of flexible seating options, I can maximize the learning environment that will enhance my students' learning experience.
