My Students

How can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed? As a teacher in a low income and high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school eager to learn and excited to try new things.

In my classroom, we are focusing on 21st Century learning and preparing for their bright futures!

These students are driven and excited to learn new things and work together to create a life long learning environment. These students are from low socioeconomic environments and don't have access to these materials at home as they do at school.

My Project

Our students come to school ready to learn but also ready to play. With wobble cushions they have the ability to move around while learning. Some students need to move to retain the information given to them. This gives all my students a chance to use wobble cushions to grow and learn.

Moving during lessons has led students to retain the information in different parts of their brains.

Research shows moving activates different parts of the brain and that is our goal in 3rd grade! I want your help to give my students the best possible learning environment I can. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my class.
