How can I make classrooms more engaging, challenging, and make students independent? As a teacher, I want my students to have the opportunities to know that their classroom is their home and know this their safe place away from home.
I want my students to be able to know they can have a choice, be engaged, and focus on their learning.
My students come from a low-socioeconomic background and 98% of them are Hispanic. They have faced many challenges, but they come with a positive attitude into my classroom.
The learning environment in our classroom is safe and I try hard to make sure every student is successful. As a result, we have been able to be one of the top-performing schools in our district. My goal is to prepare our students for the future and to be college-ready. These chair will help my students have a choice, be focus and be able to move around in the classroom.
My students need Hokki Stools, and adjustable Wobble Chairs in the classroom because not all students learn the same; this seating gives them a chance to have a choice, be engage, focus, and movement. Students have had an opportunity to try flexible seating in the classroom and it has helped them stay engaged and focus. My classroom still needs these materials to make it a full on flexible classroom. My students are excited for this opportunity and to be able to have a variety of seating in the classroom. The students like have different seating in the classroom because they know that we do not all feel comfortable in same types of chairs.
For example, students will be able to use the stools to move them around in the classroom and have the opportunity to have group activities.
The flexibility of different seatings will encourage them to stay on task in their learning.
