My Students
As a first-year teacher, I am eager to provide my students with unique opportunities to keep them engaged and interested in learning. Some students can find it frustrating when they don’t understand or when they become bored of the same old routine. Given the right resources my students can find their own self-motivation as well as an interest in succeeding; they are eager to learn new things and share their ideas with their peers if given the opportunity. My students are full of energy and I want to encourage the energy that drives them with hands-on experiences they can manipulate and create experiences with. Allowing my students an opportunity to create their own perspectives has helped my students trust, learn accountability and my students have enjoyed attending school to widen their perspectives.
My Project
My students love releasing energy throughout the day, but due to their current stiff chairs, their movement can be distracting to their learning as well as to others. From accidents and loud noises from falling out of their chairs to moving all around their desk causing others to get up and move around, stiff chairs have become a distraction.
Flexible seating for our energy-filled class can help my student release their energy in a positive way.
My students can choose which resource would be most beneficial for them. Students can choose different forms of flexible seating, such as bouncing and keeping their entire body moving, wobbling in their chair keeping their core in full movement or keeping their feet active with a flexible band!
