This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are bright, energetic, creative kids who thrive on exploring new ideas. In an effort to infuse our STEM curriculum with LAL skills, we would like to add current topics and novels that discuss relevant issues in science today. We look to explore some of the overlooked scientists of the past and enrich our young scientists with an education based on current topics and technology.
Our urban school works hard to enlighten our students with the achievements of the scientists and mathematicians from their backgrounds as well as actively seeking knowledge from cutting-edge sources and not out-dated textbooks!
My Project
We are grateful and thrilled to have been awarded new flexible seating through Donorschoose.com; however, we are in need of a few surfaces on which to work while we sit. These lap desks would make creating and working in our classroom a lot easier while we got down to business! They are versatile and will work with all our flexible seating spaces, they are big enough for laptops and textbooks, and even have a place so pens and pencils don't roll around distracting us and the people we are working next to. These lap desks will make working in our flexible spaces productive and focused.
