Help me give my students a flexible space to learn since our classroom is cramped and crowded but if this project is fully funded we will have more flex space for movement and learning.
I work with a range of students in the school. Specifically, I work with gifted and talented students. In addition to these students, I teach language arts classes.
Our middle school has a wide range of learners and I enjoy working with all of them.
They challenge my thinking and push me to think outside the box. These kids have a great sense of humor and I enjoy making class fun and interactive.
My students are creative and passionate about their work. I work hard to make sure they can express themselves in my room through their academics using their interests and strengths.
My Project
Our students all have unique ways of learning, how to receive and work on information in the classroom can make a huge difference. One of the ways to help create a learning environment that promotes student learning is allowing them to sit in a way that helps their learning occur.
Not all students learn well in a desk and chairs.
Some students may need to stand while they learn and work. Some students like to feel grounded and learn better when they are sitting closer to the ground. Other students still like the traditional seating at a desk. This will still be an option in my room, but allowing students to choose their seating is important.
Flex seating in the classroom allows students to work in an environment they learn best in. These tables, variety of chairs, cushions, lap desk and other items will allow me to do my best to create a space for them to learn in my classroom and not feel like sardines stuck in a room with little to no flexibility.
