Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This September, I will be welcoming 5 kindergarten students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each of my students come from diverse backgrounds, have specific learning goals and social-emotional needs. I truly believe my students would love the seating as they would have the choice as to how they would use their chairs.

My Project

This year, I have the wonderful opportunity to work with kindergarten students with ASD. These students have specific learning goals that I'd like to support in every way possible. One way in which I'd like to support my students is by using this set of flexible seats to create a calming and comfortable, home-like environment. I'd like to give my students the ability to use these chairs, moving them around as needed while maintaining social distancing. These chairs can be used in 3 different ways by students and I believe it will give them the power of choice, flexibility and comfort.
