The students in my class are creative, kind and helpful. They love hands-on, engaging activities and challenges that help them to think outside the box. They enjoy working together and strive when they are given opportunities to collaborate. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow personally and academically!
Each child in my classroom loves learning, even though the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
In this classroom we use a variety of learning strategies including group work, alternative seating and learning options that ensure that each student's needs are being bet at whatever level they are at.
The students in this class are truly an incredible group of learners. I am so lucky and thankful to work with these students each and every day.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Most days students choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, or with different chairs. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The comfy floor seats will allow for comfortable floor seating, and the round table will still provide students with a solid space to work, and can be used with a variety of different chairs we already have in our classroom.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
