My Students

My students are from the Midwest, in a diverse suburban area that is home to many refugees. Nearly all of my students learn in small groups and struggle with attention issues. I teach special needs students in a self contained classroom, and also teach a section of students who are mixed between special needs and general education students. I bring groups from a room of 30 students down to work in focused learning groups to my room.

Sitting in unbalanced chairs at a wobbly table really stacks the odds against them.

If my students could focus on figuring out their math instead of trying to fold paper to stabilize an old table, they would do so much better!

My Project

Middle school students are growing at different rates and have short attention spans. They want to lean back, tilt forward, sway to the side, and bounce in their seats.

The old chairs in my tiled classroom slide and flip over when students lean forward.

I need some options for students to select that are designed for the way students sit in class. With these seats, students can use them as chairs, stools, or sit on the floor and use them as a desk. Students learn better when they are able to move while learning. We don't have space for tons of seats beyond the number of students. These seats are 3-in-one options.
