My Students

I am a teacher in a low-incomve, high poverty district, because of this my students face challenges inside and outside the classroom. I want to help create a classroom that is warm and inviting for all of my students.

My students are go-getters, eager to learn, and excited for each day.

They are excited to learn more each day, especially when it comes to reading. Many of my students live in a single-family home or with other relatives. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch because of their socioeconomic status.

While my students are in my classroom, I want to make sure that they are all taken care of and shown love and respect. At the same time, I want to help the students to learn the skills they need to succeed in school.

My Project

I will use the cushions and the dry erase boards in a variety of ways around my classroom. My students will be able to take their learning on the go to wherever they feel like they will achieve their best learning.

If my students have the option to pick where they want to sit, then they will be more focused on the learning.

They need an environment that they feel comfortable to be themselves and to learn. The cushions will allow my students to move around the room and be comfortable while they are working or reading in an area that they pick.
