My students are from New York City and will be 4th graders in September. My students come from low income families and need every advantage they can get. They face many challenges outside of school, but they work hard in school to succeed. I want to create a safe, organized and fun learning environment.
I want my students to have free choice as to where they will complete their tasks throughout the day.
I teach students with disabilities and having a place where they feel comfortable will only increase their success.
Flexible seating options can be an essential learning tool and a critical part of keeping kids engaged in their learning. We already have a kidney shaped table where we conduct small group and large group discussions on various topics. We need an additional seating to give students an option they feel comfortable with.
With these new flexible seating area , we will be able to increase our small group conversations and maximize the results from being close together.
This flexible seating can be the key to our success.
The best way for these kids to gain skills in cooperation, teamwork and discussion is to give them a comfortable place to do just that.
