My classroom is made up of an amazing group of kindergartners. Each day they come in with their smiles and hugs for me. They also though sometimes arrive tired, hungry and dealing with their own personal struggles from trauma. As their teacher I always greet them with a smile and hug. As their teacher I strive to meet many if not all of their needs so that they can they can be successful. I want them to come to my classroom and feel safe and loved. I try to make sure that we have a classroom community so that these children can leave me loving school.
My Project
I already have some flexible seating options in my classroom that I have bought for my students. I have seen the positive change that this has brought my students. These wobble chairs will be a great addition to our classroom. My kindergarten students love to learn! But sitting at a table all day is tough for the typical five-year-old. I love giving them the opportunity to move around the classroom.
All of my students are unique and learn in a different way.
Having these items will allow my students to explore another position that can suit their individual learning style. My students will build their confidence when they are able to choose a place in our classroom that will work for them.
