My students are creative, eager, caring and full of questions! They absolutely love any hands-on, active, and engaging projects or challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!
They come to school each day ready to try new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
They are truly my inspiration!
As a teacher in a low income area, I try to teach my students to use what they have around them to become better learners. I teach them not only academic skills but social skills such as working together, listening attentively to others, asking for help and helping others, and growing their background knowledge to use throughout their lives. I want them to make as many memories as possible while successfully learning new skills!
My Project
I want to give my students a variety of seating within the classroom! Right now, my students walk into my room with uniform seating without a chance to make themselves comfortable so they can stay engaged throughout the day. I'm looking for flexible seating options which will provide the students with a choice of how and where they sit, and keep them engaged while seating!
Students need to move throughout the day and flexible seating gives them the opportunity to wiggle and move while still focused on the task at hand.
I would like to also provide my students with the choice to sit around the room with movable desks. This is where they will be able to work on their in-class assignments, in groups to discuss and answer teacher-directed problems, and comfortably type a response to a prompt.
These flexible seating options will turn our boring desks and chairs into a more exciting and engaging classroom. Your donations will give my students and chance to wiggle and work the whole day!
