This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the happiest first graders I have ever met. They are at times oblivious to the struggles that face them. The classroom makeup is of mostly English Language Learners from economically disadvantaged homes.

They are happy to be in school and truly enjoy learning which does not come easy to them.

They all are reading one year below grade level which is affecting their performance in other subject areas such as Math.

Our classroom makeup is one of inclusiveness which all my students embrace. They all are incredibly accepting of everyone which is what I love most about them. They do everything that is asked of them, but as their teacher I know I need to bring the 21st century into this classroom.

My Project

My project is about helping my students learn through any means necessary. They need to move, which is why wobble seats are the best invention. This will revolutionize the way my students learn. No longer will they hear, "stay still or don't move around so much!" Now they not only can move, they are expected to do so. Wobble chairs would give my students the opportunity to participate in whole and small group instruction while allowing them to continously stay in motion.

The flexible seating would be used in conjunction with their tradtional classroom seating.

Students will alternate between them as needed.
