The students at my school are awesome. They are happy to be at school every day and learning new things. They come from various cultural backgrounds and languages, creating a truly unique and diverse classroom. Many of them lack access to technology in the home which motivates us to provide these tools for our students even more. They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.
My students are 6 and 7-year-olds who need stimulating and enthralling academic exposures in order to help solidify the content they are learning.
We learn together in a small K-5 school that does the best it can for our highly impoverished population. Our school has a large ELL population and high needs for differentiation and authentic learning experiences. Our school is a family of teachers, support staff, and learners that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.
Flexible seating is a great way to keep students engaged and meeting their needs for learning. My students love being at school and learning. I want to bring in more seating options to help them feel more comfortable in our classroom. Since everyone learns differently, flexible seating is an awesome way to provide different options for reading areas and math areas. I chose the small table and blue chairs to work with small groups. Group work is so important, and getting to learn with flexible seating options is a great way to get them more involved with their activities. I chose the blue couch for our reading area. I like that they can feel ownership of their classroom and be vested in their education.
