Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a SAI special academic instruction class that is filled with awesome student who love learning and going to school everyday. I enjoy being an educator and helping shape the minds and hearts of our future leaders. I want to create an community with my students, parents, and school where everyone feels safe and welcomed.
My students are amazing, funny, and helpful.
They love to ask questions about new topics and are always curious about why things work the way they do. When they are faced with a challenge they continue to work hard and press on.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to find comfortable seating and when students are comfortable they are focused, calm and productive. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is important when trying to motivate them.
My students are more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make effective learning choices. The yoga balls are great for posture and get their wiggles out. The inflatable beanbag chairs will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used all around the classroom.
