This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade and my classroom is full of wonderful kiddos ready to learn, and is very diverse. Each of my students is unique in their own way. Their differences consist of their reading level, athletic ability, cultural background, learning style, personality and socioeconomic backgrounds.

In my classroom, I strive to use an innovative and interactive approach to reach each of my students.

I work hard to cultivate my students' experiences so that they love school. My goal is to help develop a student that is willing to "take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process." I want my students to go on to be the innovators, educators, and leaders of the future.

My Project

Students tend to be more engaged and less likely to be disruptive when they have a comfortable place to sit during a workshop. This futon will give my students more options to sit and be comfortable while reading. Providing students with seating choices keeps them motivated. Who doesn't like a comfy place to curl up and read a good book.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.

Students love the opportunity to work where they are comfortable. I've personally have seen a difference when students are allowed choices.
