Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach students in inner city Dallas, TX. My students consist of 95% low income homes.
The varied seating allows my students to develop not only education skills but life skills of self-regulation and motivation.
My students have such a zest for learning in a hands-on fashion. I have found that the more relaxed my students feel the more successful my students become. I would love to get a variety of seating to help my students relax and fully engage in their education.
My Project
I am asking for comfy floor seats, balance balls and wobble seats. These materials will help enhance my students learning by allowing them to be more relaxed and engaged in the learning process.
I have found in my 11 years of teaching that relaxed students are more engaged and successful learners, which in turn will help to create successful adults members of society!
When students have the ability and resources to help them self-regulate their learning and behaviors it will help them transition into more productive adult members of our society.
