Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a two-year DLI Preschool program, last year was our first year with such exciting preschoolers learning development of social and learning skills with a mix of interests, abilities, and goals for each student. Last year my students learned to read sight words, write words, learned Spanish and English: alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, and counting, learned songs, new games, and the most important friendships were built.

In our class, we build a community together in what we have in common and we loved to share ideas and experiences. We are a school that celebrates traditions, offers a Dual Language Immersion where half of the day students are taught in English and taught in Spanish the rest of the day, we celebrate accomplishments, and giving back to our community. I teach 22 preschoolers last year we build skills, relationships, following directions, and much more.
My Project
Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed. Many teachers are throwing out their common traditional learning seating chairs and using the variety of seating arrangements. Stools, stability balls, bean bags, couches, scoop rockets, and so on.
