My students are from a small rural town where farming is king. I teach in a business classroom where I really try and stress how our learning relates to the real world. Being an elective class I generally get students that want to be there, which truly makes teaching a joy.
Teaching in this small school, I get a wide variety of students in my classroom.
I love the diverse set of learners I get to teach on a daily basis. Being in a small school I'm also lucky to get to teach these students throughout their years from 7th grade on. It is an amazing experience to see them grown from bright eyed 12 year olds to young adults ready to take on the world.
My Project
Sitting in hard uncomfortable chairs all day really makes learning tough for some kids. Flexible seating will allow my students to find something that meets their needs and allow the creative juices to flow.
I chose a variety of seating options in order for students to find what is comfortable for them and helps them best learn.
By having wobble cushions this will allow my students who need to wiggle a bit the opportunity to without being a distraction to the entire class.
The backless balance ball chair will allow students who need more alternative seating the opportunity to get that and by being on rollers it will help my classroom management. Balls won't be rolling all around the room, but will still be a viable option for students.
The metal stools will allow students to easily group up. But, also give them a more structure seat that isn't just the typical classroom chair.
