In this co-taught classroom, our students attend a Title 1 elementary school. This year we are looping with our students and moving to fourth grade. In this classroom, we have many different students with various backgrounds and cultures.
These students have various learning abilities and amaze us every day with their desire to learn in different ways.
We are challenged to find new and innovative ways for these students to learn and get excited about learning. All of these students need to be able to learn in a fun and flexible way.
Our goal is for all students to be successful and to find ways that keeps everyone of them engaged in the learning process.
My Project
Some students may be fine sitting in the chair but others would prefer sitting on the floor with a cushion and lap desk, sitting on a wobble stool, or using an ottoman at a lower table.
We would like to have more choices and options for sitting instead of the chair and desk that every student is used to.
Flexible seating would allow our students the opportunity to choose their seat each day. This would help the students to find seating that is the best way for them to work and learn. Please help us to enable our students to have choice and flexibility for their seating.
