My Students
My classroom is a K-2 autism classroom in the city of Providence. We are a Title I School, every child gets free breakfast and lunch and I provide snack for them everyday as well.
The children in my classroom have different academic needs which means we need lots of materials.
I have children in the class that are non verbal and require the pecs system to communicate, some children are working on academic skills, while others are just learning classroom routines and expectations.
My Project
Having flexible seating in the classroom will help the students to attend to tasks for longer periods of time. The children can bounce their way to learning.
Having bounce ball seats will allow the children to obtain their sensory needs while completing academic skills at the same time.
The children in my classroom are required to complete work tasks in a 30 minute period. Having a seat that they can bounce and move on is a safer option compared to the hard classroom seats we have now.
Having bounce ball seats will be a great improvement to our classroom environment.
