My Students

My students are energetic 7 and 8-year-olds who like to learn new things and attend a public school in Missouri. The school is located in a large suburb about 20 minutes east of Kansas City, Missouri. Our school has about a 60-80% rate of kids who qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have been labeled as a "Trauma" school, due to the fact that a lot of the students that we serve have had some form of trauma happen to them already at such a young age. Despite these conditions, our community of families come together. We have lots of great families that attend our school and want the best for their children.

My Project

More and more of my students are needing a flexible seating option to get some movement out so that they can focus better in class. This seating option will help students that need to get the wiggles out, get those wiggles out and still be able to remain in the classroom so that they don't miss important instruction. Other students will not be distracted by the student that is using the wobble seat because it does not make any noise. This will be a quick and quiet way to meet my students' needs because students will get the movement that they need and still continue the learning process.
