My Students

I envision my dream classroom to have a flexible seating arrangement where the students are comfortable, engaged and ready to learn. Many of my students are from impoverished homes and receive free breakfast and lunch at school. I have been teaching at the High School level for over a year. Most of my students are diagnosed with ADHD, BD or emotionally disturbed. As well as an academic curriculum, a therapeutic approach is also offered to assist them with any issues that might arise for them.

My high school students' ability to connect to a lesson increases when it's not in a traditional classroom arrangement.

I am always looking for creative ways to make the classroom a community, covered therapeutic ball chairs would allow them to relax and would complete my class.

My Project

My students will be able to use the ball chairs in class to help them focus and be comfortable. The classroom is arranged in a flexible seating arrangement, the stability chairs will be used by the students as they feel needed. Stability ball chairs have therapeutic benefits for my students, increases core muscles, they will be sitting with correct posture and can easily do quick exercises if a break is needed. Not only will the stability chairs be a therapeutic addition to the classroom, they also will add to the decor. I would love for my students to experience sitting in stability chairs.
