This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 96 fourth graders are full of love and energy. They make me smile and drive me crazy. I am always excited to come to work everyday because of their positive attitudes.

They are always ready to learn their math facts and get there hands on math manipulatives, which always makes my heart full and happy.

Sometimes they struggle as to why we are learning what we are learning. But they amaze me with their ability to focus and learn.

My Project

Before I started teaching I read so many articles about flexible seating, and now that I am teaching I believe it could really change the dynamics of the classroom.

Flexible seating makes the room more welcoming, comfortable, and enhances student engagement in the classroom.

This allows the students to come in every day and choose where they would like to sit for the days math. Research believes it could help with their health, their engagement, and their overall learning.

I try to put myself in the students shoes and think about where I am most comfortable learning. I love sitting in a comfortable chair, with my laptop in my lap, and the perfect lighting. I am asking for six Kore wobble chairs to make my students get the same environment I would work in.
