This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work as a consultant and resource teacher. Students with disabilities and other special needs are taught alongside non-disabled students, instead of being segregated in a special education classroom. To help meet students' needs, a special education teacher works alongside a general education teacher.

My role is to support the students by providing them strategies they need to read, write, complete math problems and stay focused.

When working with the students I am able to provide them with the support they need based on their IEP.

My Project

There are students in the classrooms that I support that just cannot sit and complete their assignment. It is not because they don't want to but rather that their body does not allow them too. By my students having a standing desk or a chair cushion it will allow them to take a break from sitting to complete an assignment. These various types of seating I am requesting will help my learners choose from a seat they can work best in!

They will be able to move around to get their jitters out and take a break just for a while.

It is important that students work in conditions that are comfortable to them.

Flexible seating is a way to ensure students are working to the best of their abilities. It accommodates their needs as learners.
