My students need plastic stools, lap trays and portable lap desks.

I have been teaching for 3 years. My school is located in the Greater Third Ward community of Houston, TX. Since my school is recognized as a title one school, many of the students I serve come from low socioeconomic families. Some are faced with economic and social challenges, such as lack of community resources for parents and children and lack of educational opportunities. Despite the challenges, my school and classroom focuses on building skills that are necessary to continue beyond the classroom.
My students are eager to learn new things, collaborate, socialize and experiment with many opportunities to grow their minds.
I have witnessed their love of exploring and learning through play and hands-on learning. Of course this is the way it should be for a group of 5 and 6-year-old. I want to provide a collaborative learning space that encourages each student to be engaging and allow for meaningful opportunities to practice the skills that are necessary to move beyond the classroom.
Flexible seating will allow my students the opportunity for a collaborative learning space while being able to personalize the instruction for students. By using laptop trays and lap desks, I will have the ability to gather with small groups in different areas of the classroom that benefit the student's learning styles. Students using plastic stools can collaborate with others, learn new things, socialize and experiment with many opportunities to grow their minds.
I have the opportunity to build skills that are necessary to continue beyond the classroom.
With the use of portable laptop trays, plastic stools, and laptop trays these tools will help lay the foundation for an exciting and collaborative foundation.
