My students struggle with math and need extra help. Some students struggle with sitting in one spot. These students have large gaps in their learning and need the gaps filled to be successful in the regular classroom. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students that struggle in math. They walk into class not wanting to be there and I would love to help them change their feelings. My students want to do well and they try their hardest. I want to give them the best help that I can.
Students are not all the same. Some students can sit in one spot and learn while others struggle to sit for five minutes. I am looking to add three standing desks to my classroom to help all students to be successful and fill gaps in math. I already have alternative areas for them to sit; this will help me have alternative places for them to stand and move while they work. Students wouldn’t have to sit to work on math problems. They would be able to sway or move to help them concentrate. The more students can move the better they can concentrate and the more math skills they can pick up.
