My Students

Our classroom is full of 25 creative, spunky, and kind-hearted 5th graders. They work hard each and every day to understand the world around them.

My students are more than just a test score.

They are precious gifts that are eager to learn and do well. They soak in as much information as they can get and are constantly seeking out answers to questions they have about our classroom topics. We work hard not only focusing on the academic content but also our life skills and how to make a difference in this world.

My Project

When I go to work I want to make sure I'm comfortable. I know that my kids feel the same way. These balance balls and surf desks will allow my students to have some choice when working around our classroom.

Right now my students spend 7+ hours sitting in traditional desks and chairs or laying on the tile floor.

The balance balls will give students the opportunity to bounce, roll, and freely move around the classroom when working independently or with small groups.

The surf desks will give an alternative option to working on the ground or using a hard surface to write/type on. Students can move around the room with their Chrome Books or notebooks to work more comfortably throughout the day.

This is just a start to make our classroom seating more comfortable and flexible!
